Truckee Recycling Center picks up compost, textiles, worn-out shoes, and event waste from your home — and routes every stream somewhere it gets used again.
Practical solutions for reusable materials
A cleaner Tahoe, picked up at your door. No bins to haul, no truck to chase. Too much of what leaves a home around here gets buried when it could be composted, reworn, or recycled.
Truckee Recycling Center makes the better option the easy one: set it out, we pick it up, and every material goes somewhere it gets used again.

Local waste, handled by a neighbor.
My family and I moved to Truckee four years ago after I retired from the Navy SEAL Teams, and every day we're astounded by the natural beauty of this area. I was raised in Vermont by a father who recycled plastics, newspapers, and aluminum cans — and composted — back in the 1970s and '80s, when that was still fringe behavior.
After attending the Waste Expo and volunteering at the Compost Expo, it became obvious that contamination in the recycling and organic waste streams is a primary concern for operators. So I built a service to make diverting materials for repurposing as easy as possible — and to have a little fun protecting the awe-inspiring world we live in.
Set it out. We'll route it from there.
